Choreography in Animation
In all forms of media from film, news, plays, and even animation, one of the most important and practiced things is nearly always choreography. Choreography is the art or practice of designing choreographic sequences, which entail dance routines, fight scenes, as well as other rehearsed routines. Whether it be something as simple as where to stand and pace while you read off of a teleprompter, what dance moves to do when in your dance scene, or how to make a punch look real in a fight scene proper choreography is always important. Animation is most certainly no exception to the importance of proper choreography. In animation nearly every scene the characters are performing the choreography that the artist wishes them to perform. If the artist doesn't plan and draw the characters with correct choreography it makes the character’s movements and actions seem unplanned and unrealistic.
Choreography is the difference between a well made and beautifully done scene in animation as well as many other media forms. Animation has many different type of movement styles used. Whether they be a more cartoonish and silly movement style, or a ultra realistic and serious movement style, they're still both styles of choreography.
