Older Animations Stlyes
Over the years animation has developed quite greatly. it has gone from hand drawn characters and backgrounds being drawn one scene at a time to the amazing forms of computer animation we have now. As the styles and methods of animation change so do the methods of getting proper choreography. One of the original forms of animation was hand drawn cel animation. Cel drawn animation was a method in which the artist would paint his or her characters on transparent sheets and and place them over a stationary background, allowing the artist to reuse images of characters and backgrounds when need be. All choreographic movements, and interactions with objects are done by overlapping multiple layers of transparent paper over the background. This form of animation was used in popular animation such as “Who Framed Roger Rabbit”, “ The Little Mermaid”, and “Dick Tracy” The cel animation style was first invented and used in the 1915, so it's a very old animation method.
Once Animation could be easily accessed on computers things began to change in the styles and methods department. Animation coming onto computers changed a lot of things about how animation was done and even styled. After years of every piece of animation having to be drawn and layered together all by hand. Once animation became a series thing on computers there were a couple of different methods made in order to take full advantage of what computers have to offer for animation as a whole. Some of those methods are traditional, keyframe and motion capture. Traditional animation on the computer is a lot like cel animaton and is done by using multiple layers in the art work and overlapping them together afterwards to make the finished scene. Motion capture is the most recent style of computer animation and it allows for the best choreography of any other animation style. Keyframe is a highly used style of animation that revolves around the creation of a 3D model starting as a skeleton or stick figure. After creating the pivot and movement locations, and the character model, the character model is properly connectedto the frame and is put through different motion tests. Once the characters model is looking and moving correctly you begin designing the characters choreographic movements to be used in the finished animation. This styles most important aspect is the requirement for smooth choreography. It has been used in such movies as “Toy Story”.
